Danish violinist and all around hunk (or so I’m told) Nikolaj Znaider has been touring the U.S. this spring. In early May he was in Wisconsin playing Nielsen’s violin concerto with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. In his review for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Tom Strini remarked that “Znaider is so good that you ignore his virtuosity.” Last week Znaider played Brahms with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Lawrence B. Johnson of the Detroit News reviewed the performance, calling Znaider’s playing long-lined and finely contoured.
